Technical Professional Development

Document your technical learning for continuing professional development.

Independent guidance

HKSM provides independent guidance, not official certification advice. You are responsible for researching and understanding your certification body's current eligibility, reporting and renewal rules, confirming that your learning qualifies, and reporting your actual learning time. Check the official rules directly before submitting a claim.

Learning hours, not guaranteed credits

Your professional body may call continuing development PDUs, CPD hours or CPE credits. These courses provide technical learning; acceptance, conversion and reporting rules depend on your organization and certification. Check those rules before claiming.

The figures below are published course-duration estimates, not automatic credit awards. No estimated quiz, assignment or additional reading time has been added.

How to document and claim your learning

Where to find your completion evidence

HKSM Courses (courses.hksmnow.com): Free courses now support a Record of Completion. After meeting the course completion requirements, sign in and go to Profile → Miscellaneous → My completion documents to find your record. Save it with your learning log, screenshots, notes and assignments.

Udemy: Free courses do not include a certificate of completion (legacy enrolments before 17 March 2020 may retain one). This differs from a paid course obtained with a free promotional coupon. See Udemy's free-course guidance. Keep screenshots and your own learning records when no certificate is issued.

  1. Check your organization's rules. Confirm that the topic is relevant to your credential, that self-paced study is accepted, and how hours convert to its credits. Do not assume every published hour qualifies.
  2. Keep a learning log. Record the exact course title, provider, course URL, study dates, topics covered and actual engaged learning time. Record additional reading and completed exercises separately, using your actual time rather than a fixed allowance.
  3. Save evidence. Take screenshots of the course title, published duration and your completion/progress. Keep your certificate if issued, all study notes, quiz results and completed assignments. A purchase receipt alone does not show completion.
  4. Submit through your professional body's portal. Use its appropriate self-paced learning category and required units. Describe what you learned and how it relates to your professional work. Follow its rounding, allocation and evidence-retention rules; do not double-count the same learning.
  5. Retain your records. Keep the log and supporting evidence for the period your organization requires, in case your claim is audited.

Advanced Project Management — Measuring Project Performance

Move beyond guesswork and status reporting. This course helps you measure real progress, spot problems early, and make confident decisions using proven project performance techniques. If you manage complex projects and want clearer visibility and control, this course is built for you.

This is not abstract theory. You’ll work step by step through Earned Value Management (EVM), learning how cost, schedule, and scope come together to show true performance. You’ll build a solid foundation in EVM concepts, understand why formulas work, and learn how performance data actually supports leadership decisions.

You’ll master Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), control accounts, and budget baselines, then apply core EVM metrics like EAC, TCPI, and variance analysis. Through a detailed real-world example, you’ll forecast outcomes, analyze trends, and understand contingencies and management reserves with confidence.

Learn how experienced project managers monitor performance, communicate results clearly, and take corrective action before projects slip. With practical exercises and hands-on analysis, you’ll be ready to apply EVM immediately. Enroll now and start managing performance with clarity and control.
