Scrum Alliance renewal guide
How to Claim SEUs
Record the learning that develops you as a Scrum or Agile practitioner, then report it in your Scrum Alliance dashboard.
HKSM provides independent guidance, not official certification advice. You are responsible for researching and understanding your certification body's current eligibility, reporting and renewal rules, confirming that your learning qualifies, and reporting your actual learning time. Check the official rules directly before submitting a claim.

What counts toward SEUs?
Scrum Education Units support renewal of Scrum Alliance certifications. Learning should help you develop as a Scrum or Agile practitioner. Relevant courses, books, webinars, mentoring and other educational activities can count. A course title or completion document alone does not establish eligibility.
Scrum Alliance groups activities into Learning, Events, Volunteering and Other. Use Learning when reporting a self-paced online course. Check your dashboard for the requirements that apply to your certification.
How to report an SEU activity
- Sign in to your Scrum Alliance dashboard.
- Select Renewal in the left navigation.
- Find My SEU Log and select Add SEUs.
- Select Learning as the activity type for a course.
- Describe what you learned and how it supports your Scrum or Agile practice.
- Enter the date you completed the activity and the hours and minutes you spent learning.
- Review the entry and select Submit.
| Submission field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Activity Type | Learning |
| Activity Description | The course or activity and the Scrum or Agile learning you completed |
| Activity Date | Your completion date |
| Time Spent | Whole-number hours and minutes of actual learning time |
Count your learning time
One hour of relevant learning equals one SEU. For example, 1 hour 30 minutes is 1.5 SEUs. Enter 1 hour and 30 minutes in the form.
Use the time you actually spent on learning and completed exercises. HKSM course pages show video-only baselines and estimates that add the listed activities. These are planning figures; adjust them to your own learning time, including any additional relevant exercises you completed. Do not count promotional content.
The activity date must fall within the 2.5 years before your certification's current expiration date. Do not reuse an activity already used for a previous renewal. If your certification has expired, check the official availability rules before entering dates.
Your SEU entry
Adapt this example to the learning you completed. The course pages below provide course-specific entries.

Keep these records
Save the course title, URL, study dates and a short note of what you learned. Keep completion screenshots, notes, quiz results and any assignments you completed.
- HKSM Courses: After meeting the completion requirements, find your Record of Completion at Profile → Miscellaneous → My completion documents on courses.hksmnow.com.
- Udemy: Save your certificate of completion when one is available. Free Udemy courses do not normally provide one, so retain your completion screenshots, notes and dates.
Follow Scrum Alliance's current evidence and retention requirements. Your HKSM learning does not automatically appear in your Scrum Alliance account; add the activity using the steps above.
ICS/OT Incident Response Drills and Exercises
An incident response plan is only a theory until the people who must use it have run it under pressure. This course helps OT engineers, operations leaders, IT responders, and security teams turn a plan on paper into a tested capability.
Define safe states and manual fallback before an incident forces the decision. Build escalation paths, tabletop exercises, and scenarios that expose the gaps a document review cannot find.
Then turn the results into evidence: an after-action report, owned improvements, recovery checks, and a drill cadence that keeps the program alive after the exercise ends.
