They fail because observations do not become actions with owners and follow-up dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A familiar pattern starts with a productive discussion. The Scrum Master photographs a board, pastes the notes into an AI tool, and receives themes such as \u201cimprove communication\u201d or \u201cclarify requirements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Those themes describe the conversation but do not change the next sprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A defined workflow processes retrospective notes into a small action register. Each proposed action includes an owner, a due point, a success check, and the sprint in which the team will review it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For example, \u201cImprove handoffs between design and development\u201d is too broad. Remove personal data that the task does not require, use approved tools, restrict access, and set a retention period for raw notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AI should not infer morale, assign sentiment scores to individuals, or diagnose team relationships. Its role is to organise agreed inputs and maintain the action trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A working AI workflow can begin with one ceremony and one recurring output. It does not require a large automation project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Write a simple workflow contract containing four parts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Run the workflow manually for two sprints before automating it. This exposes missing fields, vague instructions, and cases where human judgement must remain visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Track one operational measure. For a standup workflow, record preparation time. For a sprint review, track how long it takes to distribute confirmed decisions.
